Single Cup Coffee Showdown: Tassimo vs. Keurig - Bloggle
Reply Linda on January 15, 2009 at 4:36 pm Hey! I LOVE my Keurig coffee maker!!! I have the K-cups BUT I also have the individual basket so that I can brew my own freshly ground coffee. Not only can you brew a cup of coffee, but you can also brew a shot of espresso (2.5 ounces at 192 degrees F), and frothed milk (6 ounces, 156 degrees F) to make a cappuccino or a latte
Drip, sip, aahhhhh The drip coffee maker is the standard machine that most people are familiar with - put ground coffee in a filter, hot water passes through into a carafe, caffeine addicts drift back to their cubicles. Consider these useful features: A double-wall thermal carafe will keep coffee hotter longer Some programmable Cuisinart coffee makers let you brew one to four cups at a time instead of a full pot A grind and brew machine automatically grinds whole beans just before brewing, creating fresher-tasting more aromatic coffee It's French, of course Connoisseurs don't mind a little less convenience

The carafe, brew basket and gold-tone permanent filter are dishwasher-safe or may be cleaned by hand in warm, soapy water and rinsed and dried thoroughly. Sleek, modern and durable, housed in brushed stainless steel, the Baby Twin is controlled by a digital touch ring control panel that is programmable and easy to use
Sometimes, you may also have to take a paper clip up into the piece that pierces the top of the K-cup, sometimes, grounds and scale can accumulate there as well. I have descaled about every 3 months, but I just descaled last month and now the stupid descale sign is on again and it will not even pull the vinegar into the reservoir to descale

It might have been a challenge to mount the lever in the reservoir without altering it in a warranty sort of way.But it would work if you are out of warranty anyway, as long as you can get past the fact you have mercury (albeit safely) situated in your water. I have built one from another instructable simply using a relay and a float sensor, but now I'm wishing I had some sort of timer to force it to wait a while until the machine is done using water
