MacBook Pro (2015) vs MacBook Pro (2014): Is it time to upgrade?
However, the lure of the new trackpad could be enough to dissuade us from buying a 2014 refurb over the new model.Watch our 13-inch MacBook Pro (2015) review videoMacBook Pro 2015 vs 2014: DesignVirtually nothing has changed in the MacBook Pro design this year. This is because Broadwell remains unavailable in a quad-core configuration, which is what the more powerful 15-inch model goes with.Apple has made a change with the aforementioned optional discrete graphics option, which is now an AMD Radeon R9 M370X rather than last year's Nvidia GT 750M
Only downside is it is a little expensive and it should come with a sleeve or something since it seems it would get scratched easily and for that price tag. After weeks of research I had my heart set on either the HP envy 4 touchsmart ultrabook (because of the hybrid SSD drive speed advantage) or the HP envy m6 (because of it's great specs: i7, 8gb ram, 1tb hard drive, graphics card, etc)
All configurations come standard with dual-layer DVD burning superdrive and a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB VRAM and NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics processor with 512MB of dedicated GDDR3. The 2.4ghz model comes standard with 250GB and the 2.53GHz model comes standard with 320GB hard drive, and backlit keyboard, and an external monitor connector utilizing a mini-display portcapable of supporting a 2560x1600 resolution external monitor
Connectivity remains unchanged so the latest 13-inch MacBook Pro still gets two USB 3.0 ports and two Thunderbolt 2 ports as well as a single HDMI port and an SDXC card reader. Though this means it is outclassed by newer models with QHD+ displays - such as Dell's new XPS 13 - the fact is with pixel count approaching such high numbers, most people will be hard pressed to tell the difference, unless your face is pressed up next to the screen
MacBook Pro 13-inch with Retina Display - 2013 Review - LAPTOP
But if you're looking for the best combination of power, display quality and endurance for a reasonable price, the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display represents a pretty sweet middle ground. While the bass was a little underwhelming, the audio was well balanced, and higher tones -- such as the hi-hat -- were clearly defined, with little distortion

13-inch Retina MacBook Pro Review (Late 2012)
FCAT exposes frame pacing issues, but nothing can see the timing of the whole pipeline IanCutress: My cousin in law is being my intern for a few weeks during the summer holidays, testing some DRAM. I do think it is probably early to jump to this Retina Model because of potential performance hiccups, and you are better off waiting for a Haswell model
Reply Robert says: August 9, 2011 at 1:55 am Great help, thank you! One question remains open: I was warned by my retailer that the i7 in the 11 inch 2011 MBA could cause heat problems and he recommended to buy the i5, is that true, any experiences? I preferably would go with the i7, but overheating is the reason for me to dump my actual MBA 2009, so I am hesitant Reply Tasman Hayes says: August 9, 2011 at 5:55 am Robert, Thanks for your question. The i7 probably has more capacity to drink your batteries life, as it can fly up to much higher clock rates (up to 2.9 GHz) than the i5 in the MBA 11 (up to 2.3 GHz)

You can select a configuration and order from Apple's website - we've posted links to the base configuration options below - or visit an Apple Store or Apple reseller. Dubbed Intel Iris Graphics 6100, it replaces Iris Graphics 5100, and differs with an increased number of execution units (48 instead of 40) even if its maximum clock speed has been reined in slightly, from 1200 to 1100 MHz
We dug into the specs to analyze the pros and cons for each model, and came away finding that the 13" MacBook Pro still has a lot to offer for the money. Originally introduced in 2008 as the laptop that fit in a standard manila envelope, the Air has given rise to a new class of ultraportable laptops known as "Ultrabooks." The MacBook Air's defining feature is its trade-off between available ports and expandability and ultimate portability
Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display (13-inch) review - CNET
Interestingly, the non-Retina 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops continue to exist, although it's hard to imagine anyone not needing an internal optical drive or huge HDD going to those as a first choice (a budget-driven choice, perhaps). That puts this model just behind those in the complex calculation of value, practicality, and features, but still miles ahead of most other 13-inch laptops

The 13-inch model's display has a native resolution is 2560 x 1600 pixels, though 1680 x 1050 is the highest resolution accessible through the Display system preference. Apple's standard suite of application software is included on both MacBook Pros; you get the iLife (iMovie, iPhoto, GarageBand) and iWork (Keynote, Pages, Numbers) apps, along with Safari, Mail and a number of other apps and utilities
I've never seen one on the Macbooks, so I bought this sight unseen, but I had a vague idea of how it might look because I also own a retina iPad Mini and that screen is lovely. A heavy plastic body that housed a removable battery, hard drive, ram and an optical drive is replaced with an aluminum unibody design where nothing is intended to be removable
MacBook Air vs MacBook Pro: 13-inch Apple laptop comparison review - Review - Macworld UK
If you will be using the MacBook on the move then both the weight of the MacBook Air, and it's superb battery life are likely to swing it in your favour - unless our tests are correct and the MacBook Pro really offers the astounding 17 hours we found in our original tests! 13in MacBook Pro v MacBook Air: specs and build-to-order options There are three 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro options available and two 13-inch MacBook Air options.
