Or Check your Windows Firewall, if SQL Server is being blocked, try to disable Firewall and then connect if it works then problem could be WIndows firewall. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections

Being as paranoid as I am, I decided to repair my SQL Server 2012 thinking that maybe something might have gone missing and once the repairing was done, returned in the Control Panel to find the SQL Server 2008 R2 Setup Support files along with SQL Server 2008 R2 Management Objects

Depending on your budget splashing out an a decent SAN solution may help - although SAN technology is beyond my current level of experience, I am just someone who uses it while other people configure it. I think many people still forget that computers have moving parts, they are machines - they are not some sort of quantum flux probability engine that returns results at the speed of light

SQL Server 2008: Login Failed, Untrusted domain for a domain account that worked previously

  http://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26835162/SQL-Server-2008-Login-Failed-Untrusted-domain-for-a-domain-account-that-worked-previously.html
The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication Especially tricky is one user who had been able to connect with no issues for 2 weeks and now she cannot connect to SQL Server at all (one week and counting), receiving the above untrusted domain error. Other users have had similar problems but they either go away by themselves once they relogin to the domain or after their Windows 2008 domain accounts have been recreated and readded to SQL Server

lots of thanks Bruno July 30th, 2010 at 8:43 pm Tks for this very helpful explanation! But I still face a problem to find the server when I try the remote access of ODBC. I followed one of your links on solving error 26 you provided and followed the content listed below:) Make sure your server name is correct, e.g., no typo on the name

Either because you already have the data in a table, as in the case of table-valued parameters, or you skip the table entirely as you do with dynamic SQL or when you use many parameters. As I discussed above in the section Inline, Multi-Statement and Temp Tables, inline T-SQL functions gives the optimizer a degree of freedom which is not really good for its health

Unable to install SQL Server Express 2008 SP1 : The Official Microsoft IIS Forums

When a Microsoft .NET application like Microsoft Management Studio starts, there maybe be a slight delay while the .NET security check validates a certificate. First I tried simply to remove the association within PSP, as this did not fix the problem, I completely uninstalled PSP, and tried the install once again, from my local install-file, and from the wwweb as well, all without any kind of success
