Since http proxy transfers data in un-encrytped way, so stability might be interfered by intermediate routers if there are filter policies applied (out of your control). This looks *the same* as the case when a user's local networking is misconfigured, and *the same* as the case when they are running a version of the Android software that has a bug

The OS will be Ubuntu 10.04 because is the distribution I am most familiar with and because it is a long term support (LTS) version of the distribution. If you are going to start this task right now just make sure you reserve 1G of memory for the virtual machine since the default 512M seems that is not enough for running the Tomcat server

Just use 7zip to browse the exe, you'll see a core.zip file which has all the files that usually go inside "jreX" dir (where X is the major version number). Currently I install it, copy it then uninstall it to hide it from them--seems kind of annoying but the way it is now breaks our entire dev setup with every patch

This tutorial has been tested with the following software versions: Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS (deprecated: 8.10 LTS, 8.04, 7.10, 7.04) Hadoop 1.0.3, released May 2012 Figure 1: Cluster of machines running Hadoop at Yahoo! Hadoop is a framework written in Java for running applications on large clusters of commodity hardware and incorporates features similar to those of the Google File System (GFS) and of the MapReduce computing paradigm

how to uninstall java 1.5? (Beginning Java forum at JavaRanch)

Do this, instead of downloading the JDK from Sun's website, as Campbell suggests: sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jdk Then check with "java -version" if Sun Java is being used. The preferred way to install software on Ubuntu is via Ubuntu's package management system - that way, you will get automatic security updates etc., and installation is just a single command

Android Studio is now ready and loaded with the Android developer tools, but there are still a couple packages you should add to make your Android SDK complete. Depending on your security settings, when you attempt to open Android Studio, you might see a warning that says the package is damaged and should be moved to the trash

For additional performance, the output can be stored on a filesystem optimized for speed instead of crash robustness, since all files can be re-generated in case of filesystem corruption. To develop older versions of Android, download and install the corresponding version of the Java JDK: Java 6: for Gingerbread through KitKat Java 5: for Cupcake through Froyo Note: The lunch command in the build step will ensure that the Sun JDK is used instead of any previously installed JDK

You can however still download them from the Oracle Java Archive Oracle themselves have the official guide to install their JDK - below is based upon those instructions. There are no more supported java releases from Ubuntu - Ubuntu officially supports OpenJDK and OpenJRE implementation of Java which is the base for Oracle's own implementation
